MORE THAN A PHOTOBOOTH

OUR STORY

A human named photobooth, a merge of contemporary art and design, the inventiveness of the technological core.

- Project Kibeli was more than a simple creation of a photobooth. We had to envision something beyond the ordinary, above any expectation. The result was more than overwhelming.

Kibeli’s Family

ELENA XIPOLIA & THANOS BALAFOUTIS – Architects (website)

Could you tell us how the uniqueness in design was born?

“The inspirer of Kibeli, wanted us to actualize a photobooth shape that would depict eternity and simultaneously have soft lines with a scent of endless minimalism. The contemporary design which gave Kibeli’s final shape, is the symbolism of eternity but vertically. Its’ feminine curves breath harmony and simplicity, while the steel, the wood, and the glass, define minimalism in its’ fullest. The curves of the core of our photobooth reminding those of the woman body, further define that her lines are not straight but either they have strict angles. Natural shapes and lines express the energy flow and the efficiency of raw beauty.”

CHRIS KOSMAS – Inspirer & Photographer (website)

How the idea was born?

“Being an artist with the identity of a Professional Photographer in the field of destination weddings in Greece, was alone a stimulus for thinking how memories could be captured and last for a lifetime, uniquely. The answer was, between others, via a photobooth. But the term UNIQUE ordered it to be edgy and contemporary in every aspect. We managed to maintain every element a photobooth owns and, at the same time keep a step ahead in design and philosophy. The photo-camera is regulated and adjusted in order to achieve a top-notch result in photography and video.”

HELENA AVGERINOU – Props, Styling & Communications (website)

Are Kibeli’s props, also a part of the communication with clients and vendors?

“Having to communicate such a merge of creativity and design, let alone the technology, is a demanding task. Kibeli is alone a photobooth which seizes the eye from the very first moment. Its’ props and styling add-ons are a way of communication since they match with the style and philosophy of Kibeli. Having fun does not mean you miss style or elegance. I would be more than happy to get in touch with you and let you discover more about KIbeli!”

NICK POLYZOS – Architect-Μaker (profile)

Was the shape of the photobooth a tricky accomplishment to carry out?

“The curvy lines of Kibeli, reminded us the feminine lines of a human body. While we cannot share many details, I can admit it was a creative process attached with elements I should constantly think of. Shaping gracefully such a creation was not easy at all, however it fulfilled me with gratitude to my expertise and the passion of the team behind it.”

JASON IOANNIDES – Engineering & Actualization (profile)

What was the most demanding element while actualizing the photobooth?

“Aiming to achieve and actualize the inspiration of Chris (the inspirer) that of including inside the main body of the photobooth, every fixture, component and attachment was rather than demanding. I succeeded to have the printer, the flash, the screen, the camera, and the touch screen, all operating flawlessly inside the constitution of the photobooth.”
